Allah Will Raise You with Your Imam (Guide) Following No Imam? Shaytan is Your Imam

From the realities of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham as Taught by Shaykh As Sayed Nurjan Mirahmadi
A’udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
17:71 – “Yawma nad’oo kulla onasin bi imamihim, …” (Surah Al Isra)
[Mention, O Muhammad],” The Day We will call forth All Human Beings with their imam [Guides/Records]…” (Holy Quran, the Night Journey)

“And You would have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave, and when it set, turning away from them to the left, while they lay in the open space in the midst of the Cave. That was from the Signs of Allah: He whom Allah, guides is rightly guided; but he whom Allah leaves to stray,- for him you will never find Saintly Guide to the Right Way.” (Holy Quran, the Cave)

Yaa Rabbi grant us Your maghfirah, Your Forgiveness.  We are asking Allah (Azza wa Jal)’s Rahma, Mercy, and that Allah forgive us and dress us and bless us. Everything we do is out of imitation. Imitating the way of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is the highest level of achievement which is to carry theSunnah of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), the love and muhabat of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

A reminder always that our way is the way of adab and the teaching of adab. That our way is a different way, that the Turuq and Ahl at-Tariqa their emphasis is on theadab and the character of people, themselves and students who wish to follow.

We believe that based on that character every ni’mat(blessings/favour) can open. And that all memorizing in the world, of the Holy Qur’an and of holy Hadith, if theadab and character is not (good) then it has no value in Allah (Azza wa Jal)’s Divinely Presence.
There are two issue; when Allah (Azza wa Jal) says in the Holy Qur’an that: We are going to raise you with yourimam.
17:71 – “Yawma nad’oo kulla onasin bi imamihim …” (Surah Al Isra)
[Mention, O Muhammad],” the Day We will call forth All Human Beings with their imam [Guides/Records]…” (Holy Quran, the Night Journey)

There is a day in which Allah (Azza wa Jal) is going to raise us with our imam and inshaAllah if that imam is good then we should be in a good condition. If thatimam is bad or that we don’t have an imam then Shaytan is our imam. It means it is a big difficulty and a burden.

How did Shaytan (Satan) Became the Teacher of Angels?

In this holy night of maghfirah and forgiveness [lailatul Barah (Night of Salvation)] there is a

reminder for ourselves that there was an imam. There was an imam called Shaytan. His `uloom and knowledge was something that he acquired it himself. This is an important understanding for myself always as a reminder, that the `uloom of Azazeel which he was teaching himself acquiring knowledge and from dunyahe was elevating with that knowledge towards thesamaa (heavens). That he had learned many things and had prostrated everywhere. They say wherever you walk there is a prostration from Shaytan, that he had prostrated in every place of this Earth. His worshiping was very strong. He started to seek his knowledges where he was training himself and he was acquiring those knowledges.
As a result this knowledge, he was moving towards the Heaven and he would begin to teach the Malayikah. This is an important understanding, that the Malayikah were impressed by the knowledge that Shaytan had. At that time he was not (yet) Shaytan (Satan), he was a jinn. He had acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge and the Malayikah (angels) were learning from his knowledge.
Angels Learned Bad Characteristics from Shaytan
But what happened in this whole event with the creation of Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam), is that theMalayikah (angels) as a result of studying from Shaytan began to acquire the characteristics of Shaytan, where they had shak (doubt). Because when Allah (Azza wa Jal) was going to create the form of Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam), the Malayikah (angels) came and questioned. Where Malayikah (angels) are not supposed to have any questions, sami`na wa ata`na, they hear and they obey. They came and heard and said, “What is this Creation that You are going to create? They will create a bloodshed on Earth?”

“And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, “Indeed, I will make upon the earth a Representative/successive authority.” They [angels] said, “Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?” Allah said, “Indeed, I know that which you do not know.” (Holy Quran)

The Imam Teaches you His Characters

It means they had shak, they had doubt. Who did they get that shak (doubt) from? From their teacher. That is why Allah (Azza wa Jal) is warning: `I am going to raise you with your imam`because your imam is dressing you with his character, dressing you with his akhlaaq(manners), not only dressing you from his `uloom, his knowledge. Because the

knowledge, maybe everybody has a certain level, but the characters and the manners are going to be dressed upon that person. Are you going to be a rude person with the knowledge that you have? If that imam is rude he will teach you how to be rude. If that imam is vulgar and harsh, then he will teach the jama’ah (community) to be vulgar and harsh. He is multiplying his character wherever he goes.
It means for us it is a tremendous warning, and a tremendous understanding, that not only knowledge is being conveyed to me, but more importantly it is the character because I watch the character. I watch how he is acting, how he is talking and how he is interacting with people. Does he think that people are below him, and that there are other people above him? Or does he think he is the lowest and that he is here to serve Allah (Azza wa Jal)’s Creation? Not to judge them! The first ofusool (jurisprudence) is not to judge, Not to be Sharik (partner with Allah). This is the biggest shirk, to come sit and judge Allah’s Creation. Allah (aj) created that creation, we are here merely to be a khadim, a servant of Allah (aj), inshaAllah if He accepts us.
They begin to teach that when Shaytan is teachingMalayikah (angels), they begin to have doubt and shak. And when Allah (Azza wa Jal) had enough, He knows His Creation and what Shaytan is doing. He knows the `uloom (knowledges) with which Shaytan is raising himself with. Allah (aj) says: I am going to show his `uloom in one shot. In one test I am going to send him and it will show his entire knowledge that had noyaqeen (certainty), it was just empty knowledge. If he had yaqeen he would have known the light that is within Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam).
As soon as Allah (Azza wa Jal) brought the creation of Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam). Put into him from that breath .
That was what breath? It was from Noor Muhammad(sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), where the Hadith of Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: I was a Rasulbefore Adam was between clay and water.
“Kuntu Nabiyan wa Adama baynal Maa e wat Teen.”
“I was a Prophet and Adam was between clay and water.” Prophet Muhammad (saws)
The risalat of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ) was first, was qadeem (ancient). That nobody talks to Allah (Azza wa Jal), they talk toRasulullah (Messenger of Allah) (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). That noor, that light Allah (Azza wa Jal) [says]I  am going to bring it and put it into the Khalifah.
That Khalifah is going to be the supreme Khalifah, he is going to be the Mu’allim (teacher), because this is the light of Sayyidina Muhammad coming in. As soon as the light entered into Sayyidina Adam (as), `Allama ismakullaha.
2:31 –  “Wa ‘allama Adamal Asma a kullaha, thumma ‘aradahum ‘alal Malaikati faqala anbioonee bi asma i haola e  in kuntum sadiqeen. “
“And He taught Adam the names – all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, “Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful.” (The Cow, 2:31)
‘Allama isma kullaha`, means that light “allamal quran khalaqal insaan” is already filled with the

light and knowledges of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), because he was a Rasulbefore, so Allah (Azza wa Jal) had already taughtallamal Qur’an, khalaqal insaan, all the knowledge to Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
55:2-3 – “’Allamal Qur’an. Khalaqal Insaan.” (Surat Ar Rahman)
“It is He Who has taught the Qur’an. (2) He has created Man. (3)” (Holy Quran, The Beneficent 55: 1-3)
So Noor Muhammadi went into Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam). Immediately Malayikah (angels) saw that light and they went into sujood (prostration). The knowledge and the light, the blessing of this light, they understood its reality is from a hijab that they don’t have access to. That is why on Isra wal Mi`raj Sayyidina Jibreel said, “We have a had (limit), we don’t go beyond the had or we become non-existent.” They saw that light from the hadcoming into Sayyidina Adam (alayhis salaam).
That light gave all the knowledge, `Uloom al-Awwaleen wal AkhireenAnd Malayikah understood: this is `Allama, this knowledge Allah (Azza wa Jal) had conveyed;allama is from Allah (Azza wa Jal) to the servant.

Learning without Imam (Guide) Makes You Arrogant

The other knowledge was from dunya to Allah. Fromdunya to Allah, when you begin to read what happens? You begin to think you are better than other people. you memorize two Hadiths or three Hadiths, whereas before they were memorizing 6,000 Ahadith, 300,000 Ahadiths. Today if somebody memorizes ten Hadiths they become arrogant, they become violent, they become intolerant, why? Because this is the dress of Shaytan that is dressing them. That this knowledge you are acquiring from the ground trying to reach the Heaven, without tarbiyya, without training, without shaykhs, without imams, without anybody testing you, you are becoming arrogant from this knowledge. You are now taking the characteristic of your imam, that imam is Shaytan.

Shaytan also said “For me there is  Only Allah (AJ)”

So when you understand the character of Shaytan, that he was arrogant, he didn’t like Adam and Bani Adam and anything to do with Adam and he said, “Only for me is Allah (Azza wa Jal).” Anytime you hear that belief, Shaytan is mixed in it. “I don’t have to respect anyone, I don’t have to listen to anyone, I memorized ten Hadiths! (Shaykh is laughing) With those ten Hadiths, I am going to fix the whole world, and I am going to tell people who have a belief, and who is a kafir (disbeliever).”Astagfirullah (may Allah forgive us). With that small knowledge… They warn us that if you come from dunyato Heavens, Shaytan is going to be playing with you.

18:17 – ” Wa tarash shamsa idha tala’at tazawaru an kahfihim dhata al yameeni wa idha gharabat taqriduhum dhataash shimali wa hum fee faj watin minhu, Dhalika min ayati Allahi, man yahdillahu fahuwal Muhtadi, wa man yudlil falan tajida lahu waliyyan murshida.
(Surah al Kahf)
“And You would have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave, and when it set, turning away from them to the left, while they lay in the open space in the midst of the Cave. That was from the Signs of Allah: He whom Allah, guides is rightly guided; but he whom Allah leaves to stray,- for him you will never find Saintly Guide to the Right Way.” (Holy Quran, the Cave)

The Imam/Shaykh Must have Characteristics of prophet (saws)

What Allah (Azza wa Jal) described in Surat al Kahf? No, he attained a Rahma.

18:65 – “Fawajada ‘abdan min ‘ibadinaa ataynahu rahmatan min ‘indina wa ‘allamnahu mil ladunna ‘ilma” (Surat al Kahf)

“And they found a servant from among Our servants to whom we had given mercy from us and had taught him from Us a [Heavenly] knowledge.” (Quran, The Cave 18:65)

It means those whom Allah (aj) allama (teach), and gives the ìlm andShaykh Hisham and Shaykh Nurjan2knowledge, they attained a Rahma (mercy). It means they are under the tarbiya of shuyokh. And the shuyookhhave to have the characteristic of what you imagine (was) Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)’s character. How can an imam not have the characteristics of Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam)? Can you cheat? Can you steal? Can you backbite? Can you plan and make conspiracies? Is this from the character of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)?

The Imam of Creation, Muhammad (s) has Khuluqul Azeem (Magnificent Character)

Prophet Muhammad (saws) is Khuluq al-Adheem, as Allah (aj) said in Quran:
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤
68:4 – “Wa innaka la’ala khuluqin ‘azheem.” (Surat al Qalam)
“Truly, You (O Muhammad!) are of a magnificent character.” (Holy Quran, The Pen 68:4)

Allah (Azza wa Jal) described Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) from his azheemat (greatness). That “your Khuluq, your character is beyond imagination.” For Allah (Azza wa Jal) to say that to Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wa sallam) ?!Means what a Rahma, what a Mercy!

Whatever you did of difficulty to Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) he never showed it. He never destroyed people, he never made la’nat (curse) against people. He never made any conspiracy against people. He (saws) only wanted his UmmahUmmahUmmah(His nation). That I want to pray for them, if they do bad for me, they don’t know who I am yaa Rabbi, forgive them, I want only good for them.
It means that character of Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is what

we are in search of.  If we have an imam like that, and a teacher like that, that they are trying to teach us the way of Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) Allah (Azza wa Jal) will grant you a RahmaWa ma arsalnaka rahmatan lil aalameen.
21:107 – “Wa maa arsalnaka illa Rahmatan lil’alameen.” (Surat Al Anbiva)
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.” (The Prophets 21:107)

You will Know the Shaykh by looking at His Students

Means the shuyookh are teaching their students to be good, be kind, have good manners. You will know the shaykh by looking at his students. They are trained, constantly trained that don’t lie, don’t cheat, don’t steal. How are you going to be presented to Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) like that? And you begin to see their softness, their lovingness, their kindness.

They come and say, “Shaykh I have been oppressed.” Be quiet, Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was most oppressed. “IShaykh back of MSH Artistichave been lied to,” keep quiet, Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was the most one harmed by his people. Because they have good advice. They don’t tell you to go out seek vengeance, and go out to harm and plan and plot against somebody. They begin to convey the real characteristics of Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Then what Allah (Azza wa Jal) describes that they attain a Rahma, that Allah (Azza wa Jal)’s Rida and satisfaction dresses them. As soon as Allah (aj) dresses them, means ruhaniyat an-Nabi is constantly with them, it is constantly dressing them and blessing them. And they begin to have the light of Prophet (sall leahy alayhi wa sallam).

Then Allah (Azza wa Jal) describes of Sayyidina Khidr (alayhis salaam)? ‘allamnahu!
He Attained Rahmah. Then We taught him the knowledge of `ilm laduni from Heavenly Knowledges.”
Now the world is not wanting to clean themselves, not wanting to perfect themselves, not wanting any good character; just read a few books, come out as a mufti (scholar) and go out now attack everybody.

On this way of attaining a Rahma is that you come and get crushed! You come and get tested. You come and spend a lifetime of Allah (Azza wa Jal) testing you, crushing you, annihilating you to be nothing and they want to see your khushiyya, your softness, your lovingness. If you think you are sweet, how come when somebody squeezes you, you become so sour? Allah (Azza wa Jal) is going to test; if you are sweet I am going to squeeze you and only sweetness should come from you.
In this night what we are asking yaa Rabbi is that keep us in the company of those whom You love, keep us in the character and the way of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) because Allah (Azza wa Jal)’s ghadab (anger) is coming onto Earth. That ghadabnobody can hide from it, nobody can fake it. Nobody can pretend that yaa Rabbi, I am a great one. Allah knows what is in the heart, Allah knows what is in the character. We don’t want the `uloom and character of the shayateen but we want the character of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

If you have the love and the character of Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) isn’t Allah going to give you every `uloom, every knowledge? Whatever you want He is going to be dressing you because you have love for Sayyidina Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
Subhaana rabbika rabbil izzati `amma yasifoon wa salaamun `alal mursaleen wal hamdulillahi rabbil `aalameen.
